Ornate Direct Current Ceiling Fan

Circa 1890’s

 

 

The fan pictured here hung in the Senate Chambers at the Texas State Capital from the turn of the century until the 1930’s when the Capital changed from Direct Current to Alternating Current. 12 of these fans were purchased at a state auction for $1.00 a piece soon after they were taken down. This fan is currently reproduced by Casablanca Fan Co. The model no. is 3U92D.
